Therese Yonikus Statement of Intent – Body and massage classes are being offered through SPA Sisters to honor our bodies, deep connection to the natural world. Through safe and regular touch our bodies will experience feelings of relaxation, peace of mind, happiness, flexibility and youthfulness. It is easy to see how massage and manipulation can stimulate the flow of blood and lymph, warm the tissues, improve flexibility and ease pain. A nurtured body connects us more deeply to our authentic self, a place for our spirit to thrive. Growing up, I loved being outdoors, climbing trees, riding my bike, wading in water, crunching in fall leaves! Movement filled my soul…running, skipping and dancing. In high school, I remember being passionate about my physiology and biology classes where I learned about the intricacies of the human body. In college, I studied to become an elementary teacher as I loved working with children and later became a reading specialist. I also shared my love for theatre and story telling with the children. In 1994 I began journaling as a way to know myself, especially as a way to discover a new career. After a year of daily journaling, a seed of passion emerged—I knew I needed to return to school, MASSAGE SCHOOL! I have studied and worked as a massage therapist for 12 years and specialize in cranial sacral, Maya abdominal and energy work. At this time in my life, sharing the beauty of massage and bodywork, as a way of healing and celebrating the human body, is my path for listening to Divine Call and sharing my gifts in service to the world.
