Maya Abdominal Massage, a Gift for Every WomanMaya Abdominal Massage (MAM) is a noninvasive external massage technique. It guides internal abdominal organs into their proper position for optimal health and well being. MAM improves organ function by releasing physical and emotional congestion in the abdomen. MAM is a piece of indigenous wisdom from Central America. Rosita Arvigo, an American Naprapathic Doctor, moved to Belize and apprenticed with a Traditional Healer, Don Elijo Panti, for 12 years. She promised him before his death at 103, that she would pass on what she learned. Since then she has trained over 300 practitioners all over the USA. I am one of them, sharing and empowering women in this wonderful self care massage. This technique compliments traditional gynecological care. This six hour workshop includes, the history of MAM, anatomy of the uterus and pelvic bowl, private evaluation and treatment, group instruction on self care massage, as well as celebration of our belly as it connects to nature. Please bring a pillow, a blanket, a brown bag lunch to nourish your body, and your SPA Sisters journal. Wear comfortable clothing such as a tee shirt and pants with an elastic waistband.
