The Awakening Retreat

The Awakening Retreat is a one-day experience that teaches the concept of using nature as a guide to rediscover your true self.  During the retreat, participants use guided journaling, drawing, poetry, time in nature and voluntary group sharing to create a personal experience and practice of contemplation and inspiration that is accessible anytime, anywhere.

Morning … Self:  What in nature do you see as valuable and what does that tell you about yourself?

The Awakening Retreat morning begins with introductions and a time of learning about personal attractions in nature and tools you can use to harvest what those attractions mean to you.  This time is followed by an experience of solitude outside where you can use your new tools to learn about what you value in nature and in yourself.  Finally, participants come together to share with the group anything they’re comfortable sharing about their time outdoors.

Afternoon … Awareness:  What in nature is a metaphor for something meaningful to you personally – who you are, what’s challenging to you right now, what you want to become?

Lunch is followed by another experience outdoors and a time for voluntary sharing.  This experience is designed to increase your awareness of yourself as a part of nature, and helps you realize the ways that you are still growing into the fullness of who you are.

  • I found the Awakening Retreat to be just that-Awakening!  I found so much insight into myself and life situations that I plan on making the exercises part of my spiritual routine.  Gina, 37.
